🧪 About Dr. Melody’s Art Lab

Experimental Art Meets Emotional UX
There’s no wrong way to make art—only different ways to get curious.

🌈 Who I Am
Hi, I’m Dr. Melody Metcalf-Stotler — media psychologist, art educator, and sparkle-fueled chaos gremlin on a mission to help people create without fear. I believe art is a tool for emotional safety, identity expression, and joyful reflection.

My brain thrives on messy thinking and hands-on experimentation. By night, I’m drawing aliens, dissecting media trends, making stickers, and whispering affirmations dramatically to my brush rinse jar.

🛠️ What I Offer

  • In-person workshops at Blaine’s Art Supply in Anchorage

  • Downloadable zines + guided exploration tools

  • Speaking gigs + creative consulting

  • Online content coming soon (YouTube + Twitch @sp1deyluvr)

My Philosophy
I don’t teach “how to draw”—I teach how to trust your lines. Whether it’s understanding media messages or learning why your watercolors act like drama goblins, the Lab exists to help curious people create with confidence.

If you’ve ever said “I’m not creative,” I’ll bet my entire washi tape collection that you’re wrong.

🔬 What’s the Art Lab?
The Art Lab is a space for:

  • 🎨 Art Supply Experiments (learn what materials are actually made of and how to make them do tricks)

  • 🧠 Emotional UX + Media Psychology (your art materials have feelings, too)

  • 💥 Neurodivergent-Friendly Creativity (chaotic minds welcome)

We blend education with exploration. Whether you’re a nervous beginner or a seasoned maker, the Lab is built to charm perfectionism and invite play.
