About Dr. Melody Metcalf-Stotler
Melody Metcalf-Stotler, (she/her/they) is an artist, educator, and media psychologist on a mission to make creativity accessible, empowering, and joyfully messy. With a Ph.D. in Media Psychology and a deep love for bright colors, improv, and experimentation, Melody teaches hands-on art classes that demystify supplies and celebrate discovery.
Her classes—like “Colored Pencils are NOT Boring” and “Paints are ALL the Same”—invite artists and “non-artists” alike to explore the science, history, and expressive potential of everyday materials. Through humor, curiosity, and lots of playful trial-and-error, she helps students build confidence, skill, and a personal creative voice.
Whether you're blending graphite, layering colored pencils, or just trying to find your flow, Melody’s classes are a space to feel seen, supported, and inspired.
